Default removing bed rails

I have a 2002 f150 flarside with bed rails and I want remove them to put in a toolbox but I'm stuck on how to get them off. I looked under the top of the bed and found that there, I guess you could say holes that the plastic piece go in, but I'm stuck on how to get them out without breaking anything. Thanks!

So with other words these rail caps cannot be removed without destroying them. That's hard to believe. There must be a proper way to safely remove them perhaps by using a proper tool or some other trick. I have the same problem. I want to remove mine from my 1997 F150 Lariat because my dogs chewed them up and I want to replace them. There are lots of perfectly fine rail caps to be had at the junk yard for a couple of bucks, but getting them off the donor vehicle without breaking the taps is the problem.

I'm surprised you can't find any, when my truck was in the shop... they just ripped them off and replaced them as it was easier than making sure they didn't break all the clips. If it was a hard part to find I doubt they would've done that. (Didn't charge me for the parts either)
