Reg Cab Sub Box Solution
was looking for a 10" subwoofer box that left space for helmets behind when I drove to the desert
this is a pre-fabbed box made by R/T mobile sound
http://www.rtboxes.com/ford-extended-old-sealed/
it's an Obcon box for a shallow 10" sub with 0.9 cubic feet of internal volume, allowing mounting depth: 5 1/4" (previous owner tried a 10w0 and it didn't fit)
it was originally designed to fit under the seats of a super cab, but luckily there's sufficient space behind a regular cab to wedge it in place
when laid face-down, the box has a *slight* taper that you can push the seat against:
I was able to push the driver's seat *almost* all the way back. Since the box is pushing against the foam on the seat, I'm sure you could mash it all the way back, but I'm not that tall, and don't sit that far back anyways
the passenger seat, I could push back all the way...and still plenty of space back there for storage
and this setup allows 2 key things for me:
1.) I still have space behind the passenger seat for the awkwardly shaped helmets on the way to the track
2.) it left the gap behind the jump seat open, so I could toss stuff behind the seats without pushing the seats forward
plenty of space above the box to throw a pair of moto boots or lunch bag behind the seat:
got a 3 liter water bottle on the other side too...
subwoofer used was phoneix gold tantrum 10D - it was shallow enough to fit in the box, and was a "small box" sub that worked well in the 0.9 cubic feet from the pre-fabbed box.
I'm sure you could slow down the sound waves a little bit more with some packing, but I was happy with it as-is

honestly, it's a little muffled...the right thing to do is just boost the box up by putting something underneath it....or just flip it over and have it fire up
