Ok, on my 2000 f150 I have replaced the Egr valve and the Egr vacuum solenoid this week. The dpfe was replaced last June. Oh yeah, and I replaced all related vacuum hoses as well this week. But the damn thing is still showing a pending code for insufficient Egr flow!!! P0401 to be exact. And since I replaced the hoses, it is also popping a U1262? I think that's right. I am at my wits end with this thing! PLEASE HELP!!

Take your throttle body apart and there will be two EGR ports in the bent piece that bolts to the upper intake manifold. I can almost guarantee you that those will be plugged with carbon. Clean them out with throttle body cleaner, DO NOT use carb cleaner. These throttle bodies have a coating inside them that carb cleaner will destroy. Once you have the two ports cleaned out real good, put everything back together and then take the tube off that connects to your EGR valve and exhaust manifold. Stick a coat hanger down in there to make sure it is not plugged as well. If not, go ahead and clean that out with some carb cleaner really good.

Then make sure you disconnect your negative cable from your battery to reset your computer.

My truck had the same problem.

Most of these trucks get a plugged egr tube which will cause your flow problem

I checked the exhaust tube with a hanger and it felt fine but I'll probably clean it anyways. And I didn't even know about those two ports. Thanks a lot!!! I was about to drive it off of a cliff!! I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks again

Ok, so I'm still stuck. Cleaned the EGR tube, valve, and checked the vacuums and it's still giving me a n insufficient flow code. As well, now I am getting a p1151 code. No vacuum leaks, no bad electrical connections. But I pulled a plug and it was a nice crusty white. So I know it's running lean which makes me think fuel pressure regulator. But I still can't figure out this damn EGR problem!!!!!! I'm going to shoot this truck!!!

Hows the idle on yours? I only get the infamous P071 and P074 codes (lean on both banks) and some posts here say bad fuel filter or pump. I have solid idle (about 500 RPM higher than need be), but no sputtering on acceleration. Clean the MAF and IAC valve too!

Idle is a little high. And I did catch a little chop in it earlier. Maf and iac are both good. Checked both already. My main issue is that damn EGR code. I'm about 2 weeks away from having my registration yanked for emissions. About to shoot myself at this point.

It's Probly the DPFE sensor it senses the egr flow cheap and easy to do white plugs Probly from the egr not working from the sensor won't allow the egr to open also could be coolant leaking into the combustion chambers

Dpfe was replaced this summer. As well as hoses. Coolant levels have been steady but that's an interesting theory. and the Dpfe would normally pop it's own code. It's a p0402 instead of p0401 I think. Any other suggestion? I'm willing to look into anything at this point!
