Default Rear Undercarriage Shenanigans.

First off I just changed shocks on the mighty Ford. What a PIA! That rear driver side was a real treat!

Second above the rear axle just in front of the spare tire there is a small box that says Canister on it. Anybody have any idea what that is? I will post a pic when I get home if need be.

There is also a coke can looking canister coming off the exhaust just behind the muffler. Anybody know what that is either??

I belive that is the charcoal canister fr the emission stuff. As for the coke type thing I think that is just some kind of counter weight.

Yes the coke can thing is a weight so your exhaust doesn't bounce

All I know bout that is something to do with emissions or keeping the fuel vapors from coming out. I'm sure someone here knows more about it than me.

Yea I believe it's for the fuel tank vent to filter out vapors

The charcoal canister absorbs the vapors from the fuel, mixes it with oxygen and send it back to the engine to be burnt.

Far as I know. Ya don't need to do anything to it.
