The drivers brake is still hanging up. The passenger side does a little but not nearly as much as the drivers. Think i am going to change the master cylinder out now

The installation of the shoes look correct, however, at the top center post, the washer with the ears is incorrect. You need to remove the springs and rotate the washer that has the built in ears. Right now it is not in position correctly and is contacting the spring and perhaps reducing the return of the shoe. Look at the washer in question and see how the protruding points are off center to the post hole, this need to be spun so the points are above the spring, not in behind it.

Its probably the camera angle, but why is the wheel cylinder not horizontal, its on an angle. The first PIC was correct, but last pic shows a goofy angle. I don't understand how it can be like this.

I think it is because the angle of the camera. I am going to be putting a new master cylinder maybe tonight.

Default rear brake noise

I have a 2006 f150, I replaced the rear brake pads and used the lubrication to stop the sqeeling noise...but now I still have the noise and its really loud. I pulled the rotor off and it looks like the e-brake pads are rubbing the inside of the rotor. I tried to adjust the pads in but they are still squeeling really bad and my ABS light is now on. I hardly ever use the e-brake at all. I have almost 200,000 miles on my truck. Could it be that I need a new spring kit for the e-brake pads? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

Hey nealster32, welcome to the fun and forum. Being a newbie, will let you slide by this time. Its a nasty no-no to hijack a thread, plus you will get more exposure to start a new topic. That being said, I am not sure as to what the brake set up is on a 2006. My 02 has a rear drum brake for parking or E-brake and discs for the 4 wheel disc and ABS set-up.

Brake squeal has been around forever, and probably before that. When I worked dealership, the guys would put on new linnings and machine the rotors. Helped, but was not the cure all.

I don't think the ABS light is related to the squeal. Clean the two front sensors and rings and do the same with the rear axle mounted sensor. Hopefully others will chime in with some useful info. You might try the search button and perhaps get lucky. Good luck to you and again welcome.

Default Help! f150 rear drum breaks dragging. Tried everything still not working right

I have a 97 150 and recently replaced the drum brakes, wheel cyl, and springs. The brakes are dragging pretty heavy on the truck especially on the drivers side. I made sure the wheel cylinders were fully compressed and that the E-brake tentioner was all the way in.

Anyone have a similiar problem with their drum brakes?
Hi I have the exact same problem, did you ever figure out the way to fix the dragging problem?
