Default rear door

i have a 2001 extened cab f-150 and the drivers side rear door will not open the handle pulls and all i took the panel off and all the cables seem to be working but i cant get it open. any ideas on how i can get it open to get a better look

no the handle opens the same as it allways have i tried adjusting it and that didnt work it just feels like the little lock thing at the bottom and unlocking or something

Cool Rear door

It's the cable, there is a small rubber stopper that must be broken.
I had the same problem but just tied it with a wire to keep it in place.

Cool Rear door

Remove the panel and pull the cable to open the door. The rubber stopper is near the end of the cable.
Check both cables ( upper and lower ) locks. It's a little complicated but I'm sure you can figure it out.

Default rear door

Thanks Mondel and tfarms. I have the same problem. I almost took the truck to the Ford place this morning. I decided to check this forum once more and am glad I did. I found the broken gromet/s and will repair this evening. I will also fix the other door before it becomes a problem

yup i fixed mine it was the cable running to the top i drilled two small holes and pulled it back with a ziptie and it works like new thanks mondel it was exactly what you said it was i just wasnt looking in the right place the other day
