Rear differential seeping 1998.
Was removing the old spare tire to put on a new one and noticed the rear differential seeping not leaking. Is this amount normal where I could just clean it and put more sealant or should I take it to go get checked out, it didnt really seem damp. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it

Exactly. That is nothing to worry about. I would check the gear oil as long as you are down there.

I'd be more concerned with the lack of rust. Seems like you don't ever drive it :1eye: LOL
Jk, jealous of how clean it is! Don't think my truck was that clean since before winter of 2003 |
It kind of looks to me like it was improperly jacked up at some point.... probably from the pumpkin, and it leaked a bit.
I'd just keep an eye on the leaks, and fluid level. Otherwise, send it! |
My 2000 started seeping out the bottom. I used it as a excuse to pull the cover and change the gear oil. While I was at it I did the front diff. (drain plug) and transfer case. Damn they were all filthy! |
