Default rompin but no goin

2000 f150 5.7triton 4x4; I have no issues with pulling heavy loads or just every day driving. I am however not impressed with my low end or off the line power. I can romp on it, put it to the floor, and attempt to hang on... but there is no point in the hanging on. Tires never spin, not even in the dirt really. In 4high the truck will not climb ANYTHING. I just go straight to 4low anytime I am in the mud or trail. I have a AIRADE intake, throttle body spacer, and new exhaust. Still not breaking out of the gates. my power other than that seems good. I hauled a 1984 3/4 ton chevy step side 4x4 mud buggy on 35's from Arizona too Arkansas with no problems, so not complaining just wishing I could get out of the gate a little faster or maybe use 4high for more than grocery gettin in the snow. Any ides or fellow slow gaters or am I all alone?

check the timing.

my dads 351 hauled stuff awesome but had no ***** whatsoever.

lol we advanced the timing like 10 or 15 degrees and it made a huge difference. not even night and day, more like having genital warts and not having genital warts!!!

haha sorry for the gruesome analogy.. its late

Well, first off you've got the 5.4, not 5.7

2nd. Can you give us some more input? Are you stock other than the CAI, TBS and Exhaust? Do you have bigger tires? Have you cleaned your filter?

^^ that 5.7 might be the issue... ha ha. off the line power??? its a giant 4x4 we dont get any of that off the line stuff. i agree with changing the gears for the climbing and 4 wheeling.
