Thanks...actually found one at that site in town for $300. Didn't see any for less. I have a 2WD. How do I find the ring gear and ratio that I need? Is that on the metal tag on the pumpkin. Does this matter on a 2wd or is there some leeway with this?

You can get it off the tag on the pumpkin or the white sticker in the drivers door jamb. If you can't find the codes, post a pic of the white sticker and we can help.

Are you positive it's the axle tube leaking? It's quite possible the brake cylinder in the drum is leaking. That is a much more common issue.

I think an H9 axle is a 3.55 ratio but here are my choices from car-part.com - YIKES!

Well...pretty positive. I think it corroded at the U-bolt(s). At least it went dry for 5 years with the JB weld and I have had the brakes serviced.

19 =3:55 open
