X2 on that. I did the same thing.

I paid $12.99 For the 3M window weld and about an hour of my time. And I know it was done right and won't leak any more.

Same here. I would much rather have $80 in my pocket and know it was fixed right, and if it did ever leak again, I could fix it, plus help others who may have the same issue (which happened a few months ago, had a coworker with the same leak, we did it in less than an hour).

Mine cost me around $470. I had to replace the slider. Apparently the 97/98 sliders had a design flaw and over time the frame seperates and the window leak is in the window not the seal.

All slider windows have that potential failure point, not just the 97/98.
If mine ever does that I am getting a solid window from a junk yard. I never use the slider (can't reach it from the drivers seat in a supercrew, and not going to spend money to get one that opens electrically).

I paid the $100 because it came with a 2 year warranty and I didn't have time to mess with because I was still in the military at the time.

Oh, I understand the time thing, sometimes you just have to pay.

Thanks for your service also.
