just installed my alpine hu and when i start engine radio had no sound,
but i have allumination and settings work.
so i disconnected the power wire from ignition and connected it to, the battery. and to my surprise the radio played fine until i started the, engine i lost sound but allumination work so did the settings.
allso the acc key in switch has no power. i can turn the key in switch,
slowly to run radio plays and hold it before engine starts,but continue,
to run engine starts and radio sound will not play.

 

did you cut wires or use an install kit?

 

i used wires that had been cut from my old radeo. it was a panasonic am/fm/radeo, with antimated lcd screen. there was 1 sqaure plug left, part of the wires were cut, and uesd with the old radeo.
i cut the remaining wires off the plug and capped them.
the panasonic radio did work but the removable face had contact problems preset,
memory kept going out so i bought this alpine and installed it.

 

The wires had been cut previously, and i dont know why they would be, cut.
