Question on bodylifts and torsion keys for my truck!
Hey guys, i have a question, well for anyone... I gots a 2000 f-150 recently lifted and beefed up with new tires/wheels.
Here's the situation. I uprgaded my truck with 34" tires, new wheels, and bought 1-3" adjustable torsion keys. (Even tho i think i only got about 2-2.5" out of it.).. I LOVE how the truck looks, love it, but one problem.. It completely ruined the ride... Its awful!! Now, i've been looking, and i think im going to buy a 3" Bodylift from summit racing for my truck, install that, and remove the torsion keys. From what i've seen, it looks like most people dont suggest cranking the torsion keys and it will run like **** and put alot of stress on your parts. and i've found from most that a body lift will not make your ride much worse.... So would you all suggest and approve of doing that, to give my truck a better ride while still giving a couple inches of lift?... any help, advice, suggestions, would be much appreciated... and if you got a body lift or torsion keys installed on your truck plz tell me what you like/dislike of it! thanks!!

Hey that would be greatly appreciated. did you get gap guards for it? and how far did you crank the factory keys, and did that make it ride badly?

Your ride quality won't be any different from stock keys to aftermarket keys if you keep your truck LEVELED. If you crank them any higher than leveled, it will go out the door and can cause frontend to wear out quicker and ride quality to be poor...
Body lifts are a cheap way to get lift but keeps stock suspension the same.. but you'll never be leveled unless your t-bars are cranked up. So if you like the stinkbug look or assend high look, go for it. But if not, deal with the ride quality.

2012 F150 XLT 5.0
After market keys, are no good if cranked all the way up. I've had my stock keys cranked all the way with no problems, yes a bit rougher ride but its a 4x4 truck. I love PA body lifts it give you everything needed. Its a good start on lifting your truck if you can do the work yourself. I too made my own gap guards.(Posted in the "How to" on the forum). Now I need 35s on it.
