Default Proper way of changing sparkplug #4?

So I got a check engine light awhile back on my '99 F150 5.4 v8, turns out it was a misfire in cylinder 4. Anyway, I decided to change all my plugs and I did, but I still have a misfire in the same cylinder. With that said, is there a proper way of changing this plug, as there is no room to do so, and I read you want to torque down these plugs, but not over torque them, since it has an aluminum head. The only way I can really get to this plug is with a few extensions and a swivel head, but I know that changes the torque value.

Sounds like you have a bad coil.

I had this problem down the road as well, my truck would sputter as if lost of power, changed out all spark plugs, went a way for a bit then came back, check the check engine, found the cylinder. Pretty much to agree with the two post above, changed out the coil and truck ran like brand new again.

So I swapped coil 1 and 4 around yesterday, and the misfire did change, so that's a relief, thanks everyone. Is there any recommendations on the new coil, should I stick with Motoercraft, or would a BWD or MasterPro do the job?

Hi.

Motorcraft or Visteon for the best reliability.

While the AmateurPro will do the job - the question is, for how long? What's the replacement warranty on the Master?

Good luck

The Master only has a one year limited warranty, so I'll probably stick with Motorcraft.

If you still have these in a few weeks, I might be interested in taking them off your hands for $100. I'm going ahead and picking up what I need now, but I can always use those in the future.

One thing is for certain. You will be changing out more coils in the future. Its best to keep a few extras on hand. Tackles deal is as good as they come. I purchased a set of super coils from Jegs. Paid a lil more for them($240), but they carry a 3 year warranty.

I found it with eBay Motors

Are these what I need to change all 8 of my COPs and plugs?
