how can i go about fixing my in dash cup holder thing ? its stuck in side dash and i cant figure out how to fix my problem.i am hoping this is fairly common and easly fixable. any help would be nice and thank you

 

Yes, pretty common from what I can tell - Just did my 02 two weeks ago.

Pry it out with a screwdriver first.. There are two tabs that you press down to release it from the stoppers, then it pulls out. You will also need to turn the lightbulb a quarter turn to remove it.

There is a metal spring that is probably in the dash somewhere that fell off (apparently due to Ford's cheap tape) - You'll notice 2 rivets that this spring was held on by. Align the rivets as best you can, and re-attach the spring with an adhesive, like Loc-Tite or use small screws

I used 2 sheet metal screws to hold it in place and it works pretty well.

Careful prying around the dash though, some are painted and can chip even when using a "soft" utensil due to the plastics being more flexible than the paint... Someone got to mine! but a little touch-up and everything's good

 

that happened to me too, soo annoying.... Ive just left it closed since it broke haha.
