Default Power Steering Electrical Plug and Fuel Filter

Wasup guys it's been a while since I've checked in here. As usual though I got some questions for you seasoned vets. 98 4.6. I finally ordered a power steering pump today along with a fuel filter. Was reading through the steps in a Haynes manual and ran across the part about unplugging the electrical connector from EVO power steering control actuator valve.

Where is that located exactly? I have had a male plug dangling down there ever since I've owned my truck. Havn't been able to find where it goes so assumed it was for something that isn't equipped on my truck (havn't had power steering either I might add) My service engine soon light does stay on. Does anyone know how this evo thing operates? Could that be my problem?

I'm renting a pulley puller and am capable of getting it off. I am weary of the install. Any tricks to make things easier on me?

As for the fuel filter, do I have to have the special tool to remove the lines? I mean is there a safe and effective shade tree method?

There is small tool for removing the fuel filter, the rear line comes off just by removing the clip, but the front requires a tool that slips inbetween the line and the fitting, spreading the splines open. As far as the pump goes the pulley is the hardest part to remove, I just went through all of the wiring diagrams and see nothing about an EVO for your vehicle. What colors are the wires I will look again.

The dangling plug could be the evo test connector.

Thanks guys. Need to pick up the tool then.

I'm coming up empty on google trying to find anything about this valve as well. I'll be under it tomorrow and will up a pic of the plug. The book calls it an "electronic variable orrifice (evo) power steering control valve actuator".

Had my trouble codes ran and I come up with the 1506 IAC. Troubling though because a 1650 is this evo thing. Hope he wasn't dyslexic bahaha. (I take it back that was mean)
