Plenum coolant bypass

(Just joined, so if this is in the wrong place my apologies. Please move as necessary).

I'm pulling my plenum and intake for new gaskets, injectors, FP regulator, etc., and discovered the pipe coming out of the top of the water pump is shot (the one with the nipples for water to flow through the plenum). I found
one on RockAuto without the nipples, which is fine because I was thinking of bypassing those lines anyway. So... what should I do with the two plastic nipples on the back passenger side of the plenum? (They are part of a plastic "plug" that contains the PCV vac port).

I'm guessing just put vac caps over them?

EDIT:

On a related note, is the Fel-Pro MS95985 gasket (alternate/OEM number MS16230) the updated, 4mm thick one? I can't find any specifications on it, but it is supposed to be "from 1/15/98".

I did fill that out...first thing I do when joining a new forum. :) Not sure why it doesn't show up.

It is a 1998 4.2L V6, RWD Auto

EDIT:

Does the vehicle info the forum asks for not show up anywhere?

I think he means in your sig? We can look at your profile if you have it set to public, but it’s much faster to just check your sig :)

You're asking a question I've not seen before on here, and to which I don't know the answer. Others are likely in the same boat. Unless you're drag-racing the truck (or live somewhere that the ambient temp never dips below 90°F) , why would you want to bypass this in the first place?

As for the gasket thickness, that's a pretty obscure question, too. I'd suggest you reach out to FelPro and know you're getting correct information.

Finally, with regard to truck specs, no, info doesn't show up in a sig unless you make one, and sigs don't show up on mobile, so including the information in your post is the best way to insure people know what you have.

EDIT: There's also apparently no way to see the vehicle information in a profile in mobile mode, either.
