Not to good. Seems the air is getting warm. If it heats up too much I'm opening a window and getting rid of some of it.

The stock air intake is sufficient as it is for a stock truck for the money the gotts mod is economically the way to go all manufacturers of any A/M air intake is going to claim an increase in performance and in essence they probably do but it's not worth the hundreds of dollars you spend for what is guaranteed to be nothing more than a little more rumble when you hit the gas pedal it's more of a marketing gimmick unless you have engine upgrades and require the intake to pull more air but stock motor id say gotts mod or leave it be unless you can find a used set up for short money just to get your rocks off

My 2 cents

I agree. It seems to be mostly a sound changer. If someone wants it though that's fine.

Tcodyw Coming from a performance view, the stock intake with the Gotts mod and a quality dry element drop in filter(Amsoil, AFe, Airaid) will be the most powerful. I can tell you from having a AFe full intake setup at on point in time it helps the truck make more noise but make 0 hp. All it really does is allow the truck to suck in hot air. Even the shields. It not completely sealed off. I my self am running the stock air box with a different tube from the tb to the airbox.

I'm in the same boat, after having CAI on multiple vehicles I can honestly say it does nothing, I've had spectre, AFE, Injen, and K & N they all do the same thing to me, make your engine louder. I've also read lots and lots of articles, watched lots of videos and they all seem to state the same thing CAI are mostly pointless unless you plan to go big regardless of what the manufacturer says. That being said they do usually look good, the AFE I had on my '12 5.0L also gave the engine more growl because it deleted the stock intake resonator. To each his own and as my motto goes there is an butt for every seat!

I've actually had water in my factory filter housing no problems yet with the k&n and I have hit the same hole with it while the water was higher

That's because your k&n setup sucked up the water before you could check it lol
