Why can I not find this part?!?! Its my factory 99 f150 engine oil filter adapter. I have tried a whole bunch of junkyards trying to locate one. I have the factory one, welded back together after it broke, but Im nervous the o-rings wont seal properly. Has anyone else had this problem

why not just call the dealership and buy one?

I was told they dont carry them, and cant even find the part number. I dont know if theyre BSin me or what, but thats whats making it impossible. I found a thread when I was googling this, and I found someone was able to get it from ford, but it was 200 bucks. I tried directfordparts.com, and a few other ford parts online stores, with the part number, and description, and nothing comes up.

Well nobody seems to pay any attention to this subject, but hopefully if anyone runs into this same problem, I finally ordered the adapter from my local dealer. He had a heck of a time finding it. But after hounding him long enough, He was abe to dig it up. He cross-referenced my part number, and came up with this

XL3Z6881AA oil filter adaptor. With that number, there will be no dickin around. It should allow the dealer to find it right away.
THe adaptor will be here wednesday.
