Default Painting my grille

I recently purchased a 2002 white F150 Super Cab FX4. The grille is faded. The rest of the truck looks good. What was the original color of the grille? Or, what color should I paint it?

Generally I would say black but there were gray ones too. I went with a satin black and never looked back.

If you're going to repaint it, I'd paint it black and be done. It looks a little more modern and open, plus it'll be easy to touch up from any future rock chips or fading.

My paint is two-tone. The grill insert is honeycomb and matches the trim, metallic arizona beige on my truck. I got duplicolor- close enough...for a grille. Has held up OK.
