Default Painted Engine Cover

I painted my engine cover today, I did it in Dark Toreador Red and Silver to match the truck.

Step 1: Thoroughly clean all surfaces about to be painted.

All clean and dry and ready for paint

Step 2: First color, Silver.

Step 3: Masked off and ready for Dark Toreador Red.

Step 4: Dark Toreador Red!

Step 5: Pin-striping, and raised lettering. Ford emblem in Ford Royal Blue and Oxford White, Triton 4.6in Silver.

All done,

And installed

I'm gonna go over the raised lettering again later, they are far from perfect. But all in all I'm very happy with the finished product, it matches the truck perfectly.

I've wanted to do mine since someone else posted it a while back. Then I start working on the house and forget....

Livin' the dream.

Thanks guys. It was really easy to do, but it took a lot longer than I thought it would.

LOL. Lots of waiting for the previous coat to dry.

Very nice! I just have mine silver to match the truck. I need to find a second color to add to it.
