Default paint issues

as we all know the paint is crap on are trucks has anyone had bad sun damage and fixed it without repainting the whole truck my roof and hood are bad i live in fl so trying to fix it on the cheap

I've seen where some people have wrapped the roof in vinyl as a stop-gap. Not sure you would want to do the hood, though if the paint is peeling/chipped, as it will telegraph through the wrap. If it's just the clearcoat that's damaged, a sanding and respray of clear might get you by for awhile.

The paint last 15+ yrs in hot summer sun of southern US.....that's not crap.

Ford's silver paint in early 80s that didn't stick, and fell off in 2 yrs......that was crap.

Agreed on both accounts. Oxford White sometimes wasn't far behind the silver.

didnt mean crap as if it didnt stand up it was a 22 year old paint that wasnt taken care by the first owner crap most of the truck is still good to go

Years ago I had a 66 ford comet Red that was oxidized bad. I used Nu Finish past wax and it shined up nice. Took about 3 applications in some spots.
