Paint Chipping... Possible Repaint?

So after a week long camping trip, one of the bubbling spots on my hood gave way while I was giving my '01 F-150 (XL 4.6L) a normal wash, and the paint chip that resulted from the bubbling was a lot larger than I had initially thought and it's appalling. Along with this newly formed chip, I have a few more spots with the same bubbling problem that I know are going to be chips later on, and I also have paint peeling on the very rim of the hood (where the hood meets the right and left fender), on the rim of the fenders (where the fenders meet the hood, on the tailgate (around the handle), and on the roof (the two long canals where the water can drain). I hate the way this looks on my truck, especially since it only has ~38k miles on it, so my question is: should I just touch-up the big chip on the hood and the other miscellaneous spots around the truck, or should I repaint the aforementioned parts? Also, if I do decide to have it repaint it, does anyone know around how much it would cost or where to take it? I know MAACO is a cheap option, but I've heard both outstanding and horrible experiences, so I'm a little wary of using them. I am going to be calling my local dealership tomorrow (Walnut Creek Ford) to see what they can do, as I know the paint bubbling and chipping is something that plagued these model year F-Series trucks, and we just had the truck in for the 35k mile service. I haven't heard of the paint bubbling thing. But you should see my '02 Hyundai. I doubt you can get any warranty work and only you can decide what to do. If it's a solid color you can be successful with matched paint applied with some skill. You need to fill the chip and sand/buff it out. Metallics are very difficult to touch up convincingly.

HelloI bought a 97 from my brother and it had set near two years under trees getting all that great tree- tment we all love. Lol. Anyway I tried many products to try and get that stuff off especially on the roof that seemed like a half inch had built up on it. After wasting money trying anything that was suggested the real remedy was something that was already in the truck. Rain x. Its hard to believe I know but it worked plus water beads off better than wax. I know your situation is different but the remedy just may be something you wouldn't expect. Take care
