So my '97 has had this code for awhile now and decided to order a shift pack for it. Hope this fixes the 2nd gear skip that is going on. I can manually shift it and no problems let the tranny try to shift thru gears in D and it skips second and seems like drive is short or skipped. changed fluid and didnt do much good. Only has 114k miles on it and owned by a man in his 50's befor me, so thinking it has not had a very rough life. I have the 20 bolt E4od tranny, we will see what happens when the pack arrives.....

Well replaced solenoid pack and all back to normal, should have done this sooner.

Thank you i think you just solved my problem. The service engine soon light came on and i was going down the road so i went to the house and parked it, it was kinda rattlling about 1700 rpm
In 1st. Its an 02 im gonna flush it tomorrow and hope theres no metal shavings then im gonna replace the shift solenoid b and that will fix it if theres no metal shavings. The code is P0755 for other people looking at this. Ill tell you how it goes once finished. And ironically our trucks histories are simular i bought from an older man as well and mine has 118,000 miles you might change the ignition coils soon or cyclinder #8 will start misfiring and could mess with your cadilac convertor and start a fire.

my 1997 is doing the exact same thing. How hard was it to change the solenoids. Were they above the valve body?

Installed the solenoid pack and it fixed the problem. I actually used one out of a 2001 4r100 out of a v10 in my 1997 e4od
