Default Are P0301 and P0442 related somehow?

I have a 2003 F150 4.6L and I've seen P0301 and P0442 displayed on my reader for a couple months. After I cleared them the P0301 reappeared soon thereafter, but the P0442 did not come back for several weeks. Nevertheless they are both back now ... so I'm wondering if they could be related to each other in some way?

P0301: I changed the #1 plug the first time I saw this code two years ago, and that seemed to fix the problem back them, so I wouldn't think the plug would be bad already ... but the truck is definitely misfiring (presumably on the #1 cylinder) so something is causing it. What's the most practical procedure for diagnosing this issue?

P0442: I cleaned the gas cap the first time I saw this code many years ago, and it went away until last summer. When I saw this code again I cleaned the gas cap again, and the code did not reappear for a few weeks, but it did come back. Does this mean I need a new gas cap? Or is it more likely that something else is causing this problem, and if so, what should I check next?
