P Codes diagnostics and Probable Causes
I am checking continuity from the SIG and GND wires between the O2 sensor and the main wiring harness connectors next to the battery.
now there is the possibility that I rewired the connector wrong since the repair manual tells you which pin is which and what color wires go to the sensor, but not which color wire goes to which pin.
I have rewired it 3 different ways.
-the first way I had it I got a P0135 and the P1131.
-then i was able to find a wiring diagram online and rewired it to that. that got rid of the P0135 but not the P1131.
-then just to see if i mixed up the Heated GND and Bvolt, as they look very similar being that one is Red/White and the other Red/yellow (suppose to be solid red), I switched them. No change to DTCs, still just P1131.
-Finally, this past weekend I return it to the way the wiring diagram showed, when i replace the sparkplugs, MAF and IAT sensors, and checked the fuel pressure.
Do you know the Factory wiring setup? then at least i know if i have that right. though I 'should' get other DTCs if it is wrong. correct?
I assume I am going to need to get a scanner (ie: a bosch ODB 1300) to figure out which monitor is causing the P1000, since my EDGE doesn't do more than read DTCs and Program
what VRef are you refering to? the SIG to GND VRef of .1 for open and .9 for closed?

ALLData has upgraded as well, those are Ford Service as well. There's many cheap ways to get what your after. Hope this helped. Btw, -scanners are cheap now as well.
That's easy, I could tell by looking at it. The pin-outs and colors are the service manual, hell even half *** manuals like Chilton/Haynes have them...well SOME of them, those manuals are usually wrong tho lol. Ford Service has it all, those dvd's can be had on eBay and Amazon.

Looks like the P1000 is there because the EVAP and Catalyst monitors are not completing. Thoughts?
Still nothing more on the P1131 other than the voltage doesnt get above .3 on O2S11
Oh well, can now, go here to learn how to force complete, -

engine light comes on/off past week.code reads p0420 (only).i noticed on the full listing of codes there are 0420,0421,0430,0431 for cat.what exactly, precisely is the problem on 0420? anybody? trying to narrow it down.
I have the codes p1131,1132,1151, and 0171 on my 97 f150 5.4 2wd and I've replaced plugs, packs, fuel filter, egr valve and the next thing would be the O2 sensor has anyone experienced the same codes ? Or know how to fix them? My truck has a constant misfire not bad but has one and every now and then I'd give it gas and it'll sound bogged out and like it doesn't wanna go anywhere but as soon as I let off the gas or give it more it clears it self up and takes off like it should, any opinions?

this thread is for a helpful reference, not to diagnosis everyone's problems, unless they're problem is not knowing a diagnostic codes meaning.
you'll get more help and responses by creating your own thread for your problems
