P code - small evap leak solved

BigEd54 I forgot the number, but it is the code for the slow leak for evap. With the age of the truck I did replace fuel filler neck and all the other parts listed previously due to air leakage. We will see. Normally the CEL would return 3 days later, but I prayed over it and am confident it will be resolved.

It's PO442, - the last time the 98 had a CEL was back in 2006. Earlier this week, it coughed up a 442. This is a post from another thread which explains how it came about. Also has info about drive cycle and EVAP monitor, -
Anyway, the truck is at the kids house, she drives it when the roads are bad or needs to haul something. I haven't troubleshooted yet, I had her top off the tank with fresh fuel for now. The only parts of the system I touched when working on it were the lines the run along the frame rail. If it's leaking, it's most likley there.
It took about 40 or 50 miles for the EVAP to complete with the 98. I know this because the monitor failed EVAP and coughed up a 442 DTC. The truck was down for 3 months, so the battery was pulled. It got a fresh set of headers (previous set, Pacesetters, rusted out), full exhaust, new O2's and a rear gear fluid change. Battery reinstalled, then put back on the road. It hasn't been driven much, so a play a play can be had, -
Since then, the 98 was driven once by me, 2 miles in the city (stop and go), 4 miles on the e-way @ 74mph on cruise. (verifying the rear end was no longer a concern, and diggen the new Borla stogie in the back).
She made a pumpkin patch run, approx 10 miles on the old highway @ 55-60mph.
She used the truck a couple times after that, same thing, 55-60 mph, rounded it to 20 miles there, some city driving in between.
The CEL illuminated today, she happened to see it light up while checking her speed. She used the expressway this time and took the old highway to get there. I'm familiar with the route taken. 3 miles @ 55-60mph, stop, about a mile @ 40-45mph, stop. Merged to the expressway, cruise set 75mph. The CEL lit up shortly after setting cruise. Monitor complete.... EVAP failed, but complete regardless.
It's still running with old gas, had her erase the DTC, see if it reappears. I might of cracked the rusty EVAP line that runs along the frame rail when working on it, just another thing to fix
Hope that helps if you haven't got it yet.

Put 120 miles on the 98 today, the 442 hasn't returned. Looks like it was bad fuel after all. Seems to be sipping the fuel as well...that's different lol. It must of really needed new O2's.

I put over 400 miles on the new tank assembly with no CEL anymore. I am confident it was the old tank, but there is a possibility it was the pressure sensor. The old purge valves seemed good. Old tank was really corroded at the fuel intake nipple.
new issue - taking longer to crank. I may be doing another fuel pump. Before you ask I did change the fuel filter at the same time - irritating
