Was just curious if anyone had ever attempted to put an overhead compass/temp console in a regular cab truck?

 

I wonder if its wired or how hard it is to wire??

Probably not wired but that shouldnt be to bad to figure out. I think the real issue would be if it has the weld nuts and stuff in the roof panel to mount the bracket that the overhead console actually mounts too.

 

They arnt very hard to wire. As for mounting the expy console has kind of a hook that goes into a small square hole just above the windshield. So I'd guess an f150 console would do the same. As for rear mounts I wouldn't be able to help because mine goes all the way to the mid roof support, wich would be about wher a single cab would end.

Best bet is if your at a junk yard find the parts you want, find a single cab and then test fit. That way you don't have to worry about ruining your headliner.

 

Yeah I think mounting is the biggest issue. So who is gonna pull their headliner and take pics for all of us to look at! lol

 

I have one in my regular cab. Factory installed. Temp, compass, sunglasses holder, an garage door opener compartment. I'll take a pict tomorrow.
