I bought my 03 supercab with 60k for 4800

I'd say the grey one. You can get a Zone for about $1200. And I got my truck at 77k miles. By 83K I had put $3000 in maintenance into it. I figured it was time for plugs and wires, trans flush, radiator flush, full brake job, front hubs.

Now I think I may need ball joints, but not sure yet.

Point being, the blue one is right up there where maintence gets very costly for a bit. Once you have all that stuff done, you are set for a long time.

The grey one looks clean and still has a ways to go before it needs a lot. But damn, prices are up there. I bet I couldn't get more than $12k for mine around here, even with the lift and goodies.

And how many miles do these 5.4s go generally??
I forgot to mention, the blue one looks to have 35's on it. If he didn't calibrate the odometer, you can add about 10% on to the mileage for however long he had those tires.

These trucks go for a lot of miles if properly maintained. Like I said, you go through a period where it gets expensive; everything in the front seems to go at the same general time, but then you are good.

My father kept telling me to get rid of my Ranger and buy a new truck, rather than dumping money into an old one. I said no, because I spent an average of $1000 a year in maintenance (sometimes it was a few hundred, others it was fifteen hundred, etc). But a new truck (which would be a full size) is around $40k. Two months worth of payments is what I spend in a year to maintain an old truck with over 100k on it. Of course it was paid off, however.

I sold the Ranger when my uncle left me this one. It had 160k and pretty much everything had been replaced, except for the motor. I let my friend have it for $3k.
