A 265/75 Will be right at home on your truck. I like the maxxis bighorns myself. You could stud them in the winter for better traction. Another option could be some treadwright claw 2 tires with kedge grip.

Thanks!
Thanks to everyone for replys. I had been thinking of nankang mudstars, federal "COUGARS" MASTERCRAFT mud grips, and other low end mud tires. This was mostly because these seemed to be ones I might get shipped by amazon inexpensively and I thought from a tennessee perspective that they would have good traction at a reasonable price.
I'll rethink this after reading all the great suggestions and go with something people from alaska know will work in ALASKA. 265s "look" good. However, am trying to be practical. Is it best to stick with sizes suggested for stock rims. Had been looking at 265/70 or 75/ 16s. My truck will die if I abuse it and is xl model so no off road use is in its future. Just too and from work. I have about 1.5 miles of pavement and 1 mile northern exposure graded road that had ice on it all winter. Have 3 worn out mudgrips at present and an almost slick cooper... anything will be an improvement. It was an interesting winter... thank god the 4wd works well and I go really slow.
prefer not to have studded tires and just one all around set for summer and winter use as only have truck to store the tires in.
Thanks again for all the input!
