oil pressure sensor for pillar gauge

So I bought an autometer triple gauge pillar pod for my 99 5.4 along with water and trans temp gauges and a oil pressure gauge

I need some help with the oil pressure sensor I found out where to put it but I need to get a t fitting so I can run both the new sensor and the factory one does anyone know what fitting I need links would be great thanks

I removed the factory sensors(drain oil first of course) and brought the stock sensor and AutoMeter sensors with me to the hardware store. Bought a brass T and the fittings to attach everything together.

I just changed the oil with full synthetic boo lol good idea though were the autometer sensor and the factory one the same size

It's been 10yrs since I installed mine and the truck is long gone.

IIRC the OEM sensors screwed directly into the T, the AutoMeter sensor used one of the adapters supplied with the gauge. So again if I can remember correct all you will need is a T and a nipple to attach the T to the block.

I just googled it man, you should be able to find a plethora of T fittings for that. Its very common.

No that wont work. What size is the fitting to your oil pressure gauge?

ibd2328 04-09-2014 12:23 AM

Type in 1/4-18 NPT Tee
Or 1/4-18 NPT Fittings. Make sure the male size is 1/4-18 NPT and one of the female sides is 1/4-18 NPT (for your factory sending unit), the other Tee will go to your gauge (you can use adapaters for it if needed).

Moreoever, I would just get a Tee that has all 1/4 -18 NPT (both femal and male) connectors.

I did the same thing but I went to parts store and bought a new stock oil pressure sensor and went to hardware store and matched everything up. Like 10.00 for new sensor and 10.00 in brass fittings.
