It'd be kind of an odd scenario, but is it coming up through your PCV hose possibly?

Why would that be an odd scenario? It could easily be coming from the PCV, the seal in the intake or the hose itself. Remember, these modulars do pass oil thru the PCV quite a bit. If you put a catch can on it you would see after 1000 miles that it would be filling quite quickly. A bad PCV or off brand (NOT Motorcraft) can cause oil to get pushed into the valley. You could be spot on Whitey.

Checked both PCV hoses where they go into intake hose by throttle body. And were dry as a bone and clean. I tried to use a borescope with no luck getting under intake and up along block valley. When looking down from right front on engine between intake and radiator hose. Can see a raised block stamping. It’s round with a X and a plus sign. It’s raised maybe 1/16” maybe. The oil never get to the top of that. The left side of Valley is wet. From splashing or the leak. About 2 inches to the rear of this raised boss. Is another raised boss with a bolt screwed in to it. I’m guessing a 10mm head. What is this bolt for? Could this bolt seal failed and be leaking oil. This engine runs great. The inside of exhaust tip at rear of truck is clean and dry. No black soot or anything. So with exhaust and pcv clean, engine appears to be in great shape. Also I get 16 mpg in town and 20 hiway.

The head gasket oil leak is just an external oil leak and it wont go into cylinders water or anything like that. The way the leak works is there is an oil passage near the exterior of the head. They say that when the robot was manufacturing the engines the heads came in contact with block dowels and small metal chips fell on the gasket that's what caused the leak.. The oil passage is on the right head near the starter and on the opposite side in the valley on the left side close to the front of the head.

When I had it it was leaking out of the right side dripping down on the starter and onto the exhaust manifold. Drove me INSANE.. If I had it where it was leaking in the valley especially in the small amount lost you describing I wouldnt worry about it to much. Keep an eye on it. if you stat to consume more oil you'll have to do the gasket (s) might as well do both..

I pulled both pcv hoses off at throttle body hose and they where clean as a whistle.
