Here's the setup I was talking about, he has tool boxes that fit under the tonneau and the cover rolls up out of the way and the racks can slide up to the front of the bed too do you have a ton of open space if needed. And you can just run a basket across the racks. And there's pics of it in multiple configurations in his album.
My tonneau lifts it self when you pop the lock and the stuff I would put on top would be the light stuff.
So I would probably have to help it lift or buy heavier gas assist shocks then it already has.

Oh and I guess it goes with out saying the heavier items that a guy would want on top you would put closest to the cab of the truck.

I actually find the full utility ladder racks to be more useful. I would just shorten the front over cab portion to around the middle part of the cab. That way I could mount a forward facing 40" led light bar, and have dually's mounted on the corners for area lighting around the truck. I'd weld in some 1/8" wire mesh to give it a basket appearance.

As far as a rear mounted winch I will be doing a warn 10k mounted in the spare tire well. But I need to find one with the solenoid pack the is not built in .

Ya that sounds like some great ideas!

A friend has a warn 16.5 rear mounted where his spare was and a flip up plate. Works excellent, except in the winter it gets covered in sand and salt and in deep mud gets pretty dirty.

He removes it a couple times a year and cleans and inspects it.
Oh and it's a 2010 f250 6" lift on 37s if that matters.

I'm looking at putting M12000's front and rear. The rear I was going to try to mount it with the top facing the rear to maintian as much ground clearence as possible. I would build a mount with a intregal shroud to help keep mud and other crap away from the motor and gear drive.

I think the ladder rack would be cool as long as you could mount it so that you can have a high recovery point. Idk how that would work. The higher you hook your end of the strap it kinda lifts the stuck truck.
