What is the loudest exhaust I can get that's still legal in Colorado?

Your best bet is to call your local law enforcement and see what they say. But im guessing you can get away with almost all exhaust depending on if you put the loud petal to the floor or not.

I live in Mississippi, BUT I have Flowmaster Series 40 with 3 inch tips and it isn't too terribly loud and sounds good

I don't know about Colorado legal; but I have a Thrush glass pack on my 02 and like it. I have yet to get pulled over on it or have people key my truck for the noise it makes.

Then again, it's less than a year old (the fiberglass is probably in pretty good shape) and I haven't done any other work to my exhaust or truck.

So did you just cut off the muffler and put in the glasspack and then extend a straight pipe to it?

That's what the shop did; it looks pretty crappy (dude didn't care it wasn't his truck) but I think it sounds great.

Is this some kind of vibration dampener?
