Default OBD2 wont work.

Hi, new to this forum, as new as today. My truck is a 2007 XL, V6 4.2L. Automatic with 10th gen body style. Mexican version and as basic as it gets, only radio and AC, manual windows, manual everything. I have been trying to find info about it because, for example, it seems like mine does not have passenger compartment fuse box, only the one in the engine compartment. Is this possible or I have a MacGyver's truck?

Here is the issue I'm having: can't get the scanner to connect, it lights up, have 12v on pin 16, grounds on 4 and 5 are ok but no connection at all. Truck starts and run, odometer reading is correct at 350k+ Kms (217k+ miles). ABS was the only light I used to have in my dash, now also BRAKE and SERVICE ENGINE SOON lighted up. Any suggestions on where to start??

Keep in mind that OP mentioned that our 10G trucks were still what was going on in Mexico.

That’s an ‘07 down there.

OP, are you saying the acess door that I circled in yellow doesn’t exist? That’s your fuse panel in there.

Yeah, I see those RCSB truck groups on FB and they definitely have some hilarious prices for their trucks.

But, that ad price is in Mexican dollars. $10K and change USD.

I guess I should have asked…OP, what are you using for a scanner and is that truck OBD2 and you are connecting to the OBD port which I assume (with trepidation) is located above the gas pedal attached below the dash?

There are test procedures for "NO CODES OUTPUTTED" in the PCED
JCR 56 has it, post 5
It's the cigar lighter fuse that powers the DCL

Hi again, thanks everyone for taking the time to reply.

My truck is an '07, but here in mexico we have '07 10th gen body style, 11gen was released on '04 here too, by '07 you could pick the one you liked the most at the dealer.

Original color was silver, hat it painted over on this yellow/mustard color to be used as escort vehicle while hailing heavy equipment here in Mexico. This is the sticker with the truck's info and series, if this helps with something.

I do have the cover, as you can see:

But, once you remove that cover the space is 'empty'. The plug you se there is connected to the module in the next image.

This module:

The only fuses I have been able to find are this ones in the engine compartment, right in front of the driver side.

And yes, I connected my scanner to the port above the gas pedal. This one:

I own a cheep Astro scanner, never let me down, it's first time not connecting. Plugged into a 2016 Tundra no problem, 2010 F350 no problem, will try on an older 2002 F350 and let you know. This pic is from it trying to connect to my F150:

Any suggestions on where to check now?

My best look at that module with the 6L3T number is your GEM. Ours have the fuse box tied to those. Interesting.

I wonder if your truck is OBD2 compliant? Is the emission sticker still under the hood anywhere? I wish I knew more off hand right now, but it was really only rather recently where North American market vehicles started lining up under regulations.

ETA: Since you have basically a 10G F150, maybe this way of check codes will work for you:
