Noticed a oil seal leak
So I just moved down to florida this last week and had looked evertything over on my truck and there were no leaks. I get down here, change my rear brakes and notice the rear diff pinion seal is leaking. Dont have any mechanic
down here I can trust and have never done it, how bad is it to do?

You have to be really careful getting the pinion nut in exactly the same spot and torque. Other than that it's not really hard. I know a guy over on The Ranger Station that did a write up on it. This is the best way to do it here in the link. I very strongly recommend using a Ford seal only. I can show you pics of why if you'd like, but it's by far the best seal. It's an 8.8 in the write up, but the same point can be used with any diff. Also... I always install a speedi-sleeve on the pinion flange to ensure a nice surface for the new seal.

What I said above didn't get out right. You take the pinion nut 1/8" past the mark, not right on the mark. You need the mark though or you'll have to reset the pinion depth and change the crush sleeve.

Which differential do you have? I'll see if I can find one.
