Possible DPFE sensor problem ? - just throwing it out there, there is two silicone tubes running off of the EGR tube to a little bastard box (I'm at a loss for words), pull the tubes and see if there is any sign of deterioration, blow through them. Thats another thing I just remembered replacing that was causing some drive-ability issues. From what i could tell is that the hoses fell apart inside and blocked up the ports in the sensor - Its worth a look.

EGR is a good place to look as well - reminds me about mine, it's been awhile since I have checked it ! Look up ways to test the EGR, Im sure there is a bunch of info on here about it. There is so many little things on these new (1980+) trucks that can cause all sorts of goofy problems - I love em' but hate em' at the same time.
