No low end power
Hi Guys and Gals,
I have a 2002 F-150 FX4, 5.4L. In the past few months I've noticed a substantial loss in power in the low end. Its so bad that it is a struggle for the truck to spin the tires in the rain. Imagine trying to start out in second gear, but its not... I can count the gears to overdrive, it is definitely starting in first. The loss in power only seems to affect the truck when accelerating from a stop, and only at low rpms.
Thats the problem, here's what I've done:
just changed plugs today, fuel filter, k&n cai, flow master single exhaust - no change in pipe diameter
Is there a sensor that could be out? maybe a torque converter problem? I read in another post that disconnecting the battery to reset the ecm could help... not sure.
Any and all input is very appreciated, I need my truck healthy again! Thanks again.
