I used single direction green LED's and I'm very happy with the now bolder green light displayed. I prefer the stock green tint over the work involved in changing to blue like the cool kids, lol.

If I have one complaint about using green led's it's that the red-orange instrument needles are now darker and could be harder to read if you're old or going blind.

If I had to do it again, I'm not sure I'd do anything different.

Would I be able to get away with red? Was thinking of blue, but like wolvee mentioned...all the cool kids did that already. What about red?

Sweet, so then you can look like a 90's Pontiac, lol. If you want to do it then you'll need to completely disassemble the gauge face. There's a wright up on how to do somewhere on the board. If you search you'll find it and then pick your color.

Also be carefully not every dash can be changed. I'd have to desolder the old lights and solder in new ones if I ever wanted to change my dash lights on my 03 scab.... Which is unfortunate because I do want to change them lol

Well, Im redoing all my interior black (carpet, headliner, visors, etc) And embroidering "roll" "tide" on the visors in red. Even painting truck black/charcoal and going to paint engine a deep red.

Figured it only made sense to go with red lights too. Red is also more friendly at night.

When I took my dash apart for something else I went ahead and pulled apart the cluster to see if I could change the lights while I was in there and my lights were directly soldered into the port, you can't just pull the bulb out of the socket because their is no socket. There's a few threads on here that mention it.

Ahh ok. I see what you mean now.

Well, I guess I won't completely know until I get it all pulled out. So far I have my backseats out and all the trim around that. Should have it mostly all out tomorrow
