Im new to the forum and I dont have a truck yet but I am buying one tomorrow. Its a 2002 f150 xlt 4x4 and it has xtr on the back. I have read it means another package(bumper,grille,wheels)??? It has 87000 miles on it and im wondering how long should I expect one of these to run for? I dont plan on beating it to death, Just some back roads for hunting. Maybe doing some work to it too (small lift kit,intake,exhaust,etc).... 200,000???

If you get it, post up some pictures of it so we can finally figure out what the xtr is. From what I have found it is something to do with the paint or other appearance add ons.

Thanks for the comments it makes me feel better about buying it. I heard that it came from canada, but I live in Oregon. I have heard different opinions on what the xtr is (canada package?) and never got a for sure answer. I will post pics if it passes inspection and I buy it.

the XTR also has skid plates and heavy duty shocks(RANCHO). my dad has one.

afaik only the FX4 comes with that. They're also not listed for the XTR on ford's website. Are you sure they're not aftermarket?

my understanding is the xtr is an offroad package like the z-71 for chevy...i have an 03 f-150 xtr and no i dont have the chrome around the grille
