I've come across a source for brand new spare hoists, they are off of brand new e series vans. They will need minor modification as the brackets are different, but the unit itself is identical. You will need to cut off the brackets on the new and old one, then weld the brackets from your old into the new. They will come in randomly and I will post when I have some to sell. This is the one I have done for my truck, just needs some paint and install. There is no key needed as there is just a square notch that your bar that lowers the hoist just fits into.

If you read this thread and haven't checked yours it would be a good idea to do so. They get rusted beyond repair if you never drop it.

Also make sure the cable works.
Mine was broken when I got the truck. The replacement I got was in pretty good shape but I still cleaned it and painted it, plus I lubed the cable with a bunch of grease.

I notice the new ones have a spring on the bottom of the cable below the tire holder. I guess it makes a difference in how it is held up there?
