Well, with 260k miles on the clock, It is going to have more issues than a truck with lower miles. With mileage like that, anything could fail at any time... There is almost no certainty how reliable it will be for you. You could get lucky and it will last another 100k miles or the motor could go out next year.
With that being said, the biggest issues I've read about is the COP on these truck failing, but they seem to happen in the higher mileage category, plus these trucks are getting to be pretty old, so I wouldn't consider those a problem, just wear and tear.
Intake manifolds like the leak and cause misfires and vacuum leaks, pretty easy job you can do yourself if you have basic hand tools and a torque wrench. It is also worth mentioning that early on these trucks had issues shooting spark plugs out of the motor. It is vital, especially on the 5.4 to make sure the spark plugs are torqued down to spec when changing them. I've probably missed a few and I'm sure others will chime in.
Good luck with the purchase! Show us some pictures of the truck! Welcome to the forums!
