new exhaust layout

hey everyone just had a question about a new exhaust that im thinking get right now im just running a cat back exhaust back to duals with a rear exit and cherry bomb extreme. So ive been looking and want a whole new exhaust so this is what i was thinking
-flowtech shorty headers
-dual 3'' pipes
-then run those to a single 3.5" pipe back to a 5 inch tip

-what do you guys think like dislike the idea?

Unless your truck is turbo or supercharged dont go bigger than 3" or your gonna lose torque

So you are wanting to replace the entire exhaust? And I disagree ith the above statements about 3.5" being too much. How is a 3.5" single pipe back too much flow if people are running 2-1/4 and 2-1/2" duals (4.5 and 5" total flow back)?

Yea I understand what you guys are saying I want to at least 3 inch pipes I have. 2.5 right now so I don't think 3.5 would be to bad or loose torque at all? Maybe haha

Your going to lose hella torque with 3.5 pipe, trust me dude ask any exhaust shop and there gonna tell ya 3.5 is too big for our truck, even 3" is pushin it unless you got some mods done to the engine

Stick with a 2.5" from the headers back. use a X-pipe to even the exhaust flow between the two pipes coming off the headers. Then you'll have no problems running a single 3.5" pipe from the muffler back.

ok thanks guys all of you have been big help i think what carcrazygts2 said is what im going to do. Just run 2.5 pipes from headers then go to a 3.5 pipe from muffler back but most likley i want use a muffler thanks everyone again!!

I assume your truck is a 5.4. 2.5" pipe is plenty large enough to support 500-600hp wheel. They came with 2.5" from the factory.
