Default New Custom Bumper

Hey guys!

So I got a little bit of work done to my truck this weekend. My friend is an engineering student so he designed this bad boy on his cad program for school. He did an incredible job.

Excuse the paint, my friends like to have fun. Haha. It will be bedlined with herculiner as soon as its warm enough!

Tho I applaud the attempt. It looks like crap. Your friend really needs to stay in school. It looks like something a 1 grader drew up.

For two 19-year old kids with a sheet of steel, a stick welder, torch, and a grinder, I am pretty damn proud of it.

Cant put a sQuare peg in a round hole is all I'm saying. If you would have spent more time with a cood design that flowed with the truck it would look better. That looks like it belongs on the front of a older OBS ford.

I understand. It could flow a little better. But I really like it and am proud of it.

You can put a square peg in a round hole if the hole is big enough or the square is small enough. Sorry, I had to be the dipstick to say it lol.

I'm on the fence about it, I think the paint job really throws it off. To me the bumper looks too tall, and it doesn't fit (because the grill is lower than the headlights and there was no compensation for that). Just like you said though, pretty damn good for a couple kids messing around in the shop, around here you get these kids that try to make "roll bars" and it looks just plain horrible with no thought in the project. I think you have a good base and should try to expand upon it before bed lining it. Remember our trucks are curvy and that bumper is pretty squared off.

If this where mine and I had the knowledge to do so, I would make it much shorted (maybe 3-4"?), try to curve some metal around the grill so it looks like it fits instead of having the gaps under the headlights if that makes sense, and make a tube grill guard.

If you're happy with it and proud of it, that's all that matters!

You put a shelf on the front of your truck.

Reminds me of the Deathmobile from Animal House (remember what Delta House did to a Lincoln Continental). You sure do not want to be in front of THAT when at speed! At least it's real steel - and solid.
