Default Need some exhaust help

I apologize for the ignorance in advance, haven't dealt with exhaust too much but here it goes. Right now my exhaust consists of a single tube cut at the cab/bed junction no muffler or fancy tip. I'm looking to do an exhaust dump behind the axle. Buddy of mine is selling a di/do muffler for pretty cheap; should I do a dual dump behind the axle (would it sound better?). Or can I use two Y's to add the muffler but then have a single exhaust dump? Is that possible or just plain dumb? Should I just buy a si/so muffler and be done with it? Thanks guys

Any of the possibilities you listed can be done. But I'd just buy a SISO and call it a day for your purposes.

Would there be a noticeable difference in sound if I did a dual dump or a single dump with the di/do muffler as compared to the dump with a si/so?

I can tell the difference between SIDO/SISO and true duals (DIDO with a built in X pipe. But dumps muddy up the tone and make it sound really grumbly, so I don't know how that'll affect the sound. So I'd say yes, and that the DIDO will sound better and louder, but I don't know to what extent.
