Considering "train horns"?
Seriously?

A fool and his money are soon parted.

You're driving a 16 year old truck. It's going to break down. You should be saving every penny you can to pay to fix it when it happens. Or to put towards a newer more reliable vehicle in a couple of years.

Yeah, you're no different from the average 16 year old. But here's the thing, they all need to grow up, ... and will. There's a few Hard Knocks along the way. Sometimes people try to tell you what you should be doing based on having experience those knocks themselves

Iv spent about 4k just in getting it to run good, rebuilt the tranny and the engine, it has 240k miles on it, and im realistic with it. I know im not going to be driving this for 10 more years, but i also know that ill have it for at least 2 more. For those 2 i want to be able to enjoy it, so speakers are definitely what im going to do. Theres only about 2k miles on the new tranny and engine, so i have faith in that. Its not lifted and all the suspension/steering components are still in good condition. If its a truck that i would keep for years and years id put every penny i make into it, but i know thats not the smartest decision. Thanks to everyone that suggested the sound system, thats what im going with.

Train horns are illegal to use in any public road in any state.

Had no merit. More of a glass half full thing, once you read through it. If you still fail to comprehend, I can't help yuh.

We all start somewhere. I think it's great that someone at 16 is already showing interest in modifications.
Mind you, modifications are a bottomless money pit and can often hinder resale value more than help it. But making your vehicle unique is what it's all about; especially when you're young and your vehicle is likely the biggest purchase in your life. Have fun before you're stuck with the expenses of a family, a mortgage, student loans, etc. I've probably dumped upwards of $40k into some of my cars, a complete waste to my friends, my family, and forums. But I enjoy where that money went. I enjoy that my "investment" + the cost of the car can out run and out handle cars that cost much more. So I have no regrets.
We all spend money on things we soon realize we shouldn't have. Live and learn. You can't truly learn from another's experience, you have to figure things out for yourself.

Word of advice, build your truck for you and not for the approval of the internet. If everyone built their vehicle to the satisfaction of the masses, everything would be mostly stock.

To answer your question:
Do you listen to music regularly? Replace the speakers. An improved sound system will be enjoyment for you now and be a selling point in two years.
If you think train horns are cool, then go for it. You can always keep the setup and transfer it to future truck.

If you want to get technical...
$200 for new speakers, enjoyed on a daily basis for 2 years, means they'll only cost you $0.27 per day in that time span.
Will the cost per *honk* of your train horn be worth it to you?

Thank you very much, that's the answer i was looking for, i think the speakers are definitely what i'm gonna go with. If i had all the money i wanted this truck would have another 20k invested in it... longtube headers to true dual exhaust, a roush supercharger, camshaft, forged engine parts... Never gonna happen, but hey, a kid can dream right?

Good.
How about your ball joints did you replace them?
Did you replace brakes and rotors?
Brake lines and hoses?
Fuel pump ?
Radiator?
Alternator?
All your door lock actuators?
Four wheel drive shift Fork?

Coils?
Rear axle seals?

Your truck is at the age 240k where tons of things are going to quit working.

Not only that you need tires every 2 or 3 years, and they're about $1,000

Your parents might be like me. I pay for everything for my kids vehicles. And they've never worked. Their only job is to get really good grades in school. As long as they do that they get a free ride from me. Daughter graduated college and is waiting for grad school to start currently. I told her if she comes up with $5,000, we will get her a new car. So she's working on that. She still driving the same car she got in high school 7 years later, and its getting up there.

Their stereos and subwoofers and things they got for Christmas or with money they received from birthdays from relatives

Speskers- and imo, leave the truck stock and enjoy it as it is- do your pm's and keep it as reliable as possible.
Finish your education and secure a good job- then you can have the $$ to have a little fun with it. Regards, Bear.
