My passenger ext cab door won't open
I need help here somebody, the small door on the passenger side on y 1997 Ford F150 4.6 XLT 3 door extended cab won't open no more, it is stuck somehow, I do not know why, it's been over a month it is not wanting to open no more, I was at a clinic right, I did not do nothing to it but close it the normal way without slamming it or nothing right, when a friend got out of it. I like to double check and make sure my doors are close good so the lights can go off, any word on what could have it not wanting to open no more, like maybe the lower actuator or whatever you call it. I hope I can fix on it myself instead of a high price shop to do it, please give me some good advice and tips on what it could be, ok thank you

There's already a thread on here called suicide/ rear doors, I'd post the link but the app on my phone is acting up, it's a very easy job to fix yourself, I used zip ties on my door when it had that issue. Good luck.

Did you have to take the door panel loose on the rear is what I am trying to get to and stuff, is that how you use the zip ties is by gaining access to the inside of the door panel when you take it off by finding the part that makes the door stuck and not wanna open no more, let me know, please.

yes, you have to take the plastic pieces off. there are two cables one to the top and one to the bottom latch. the rubber end have broken off you can pull the cable to open the door.

any idea how to unlatch the lower latch with the door closed and cable busted????

Yes I finally got it opened and removed the latch what a pain with no cable, then there is a support over the catch so there's no unlatching without a cable pry bar and a lil door damage

Oh wow, well glad you got it.
I just did this a few months ago, but it was my top cable, I just pulled the cable out, I didn't have to pull the latch off, if I'm understanding you correctly |
damaged the lower unlatching it closed, only reason its almost impossible to unlatch when closed and the cable is busted, there is a door support covering lower latch wich denys you access, unless someone else has a trick this one was painful
