Default Bigger the better

Hey i'm new here to f150 forum and right now i got a 2002 ford f-150 xl 4x4 4.6L ex cab I was wanting to get a 3 in body lift but when i get it i wanna get bigger tires as well i already got some 285's rather than the stock 235's but i wanna go big and get some like 315 or 325 but i kno my truck doesn't have enough power to push them big tires the tires now already dog it down if i got the trailer on but i was wondering if anyone knew how to solve this problem like maybe new gears or something.

gears are GOOD. less strain on the engine and tranny because you're not lugging.

Most Fords come stock with 3.55s in an 8.8" rear end unless you have the tow package or and FX4 package then they'll come with 3.73s in a 10.25" rear end. But I would still look at the tag on the cover of the rear differential and it will tell you there just to make sure.
