I currently get about 18 highway all stock. I was thinking with 33s of going with the E load rating for the stiffness for towing and hauling i do. Ive noticed ths last couple times i went with E tire thats theyre really heavy lol. I just wanna make sure that should i slide off the road this winter ill have use of the power of my truck to get back on the road lol. Kinda a rather have it and not need than need it and not have it.

But if you guys are saying i wont notice a difference ill take your word for it as i have never regeared a truck before. Im also a littld concerned about preserving my trans too with taller tires as well. I know 33s arent huge by any means.

Sorry for hijacking the thread!

Haha thanks guys! I had bfg in 315's on an older truck and they felt really soft. I switched to yokohama geolander mts and loved them. Best off road, snow, and ice tire ive personally ran. But since i do more highway driving than off road, ive been looking at the destinations and a couple falcons too. But before this turns into another tire thread i appreciate all the responses. Not having to pay to regear is nice and i can budget that money elsewhere now!

All tires suck on ice unless they have chains/cables or the ice studs lol

If you want Hp, you have to pay for it. Otherwise you're just wasting your time.

Heads, cams, LT's and tune are your best and only non built-lower NA 2v applications.

Then there's Nitrous, Superchargers and Turbos.

I'm going the 5.4 4v route then maybe a small turbo once I buy a bigger boat and I have to tug around another race car.

NA Hp numbers SUCK for the 2v modulars and the $/Hp: is almost not worth it to mod.

If you're looking for Tq, Nitrous, Blower or a 4v would be the best $/Hp:

4v 5.4 is the best in my opinion for non race truck since you're at 100% tq at such a low RPM. It completely changes the dynamic of the truck without other crazy mods.

Most people on the ford truck forums say, "do a lightning swap" but I think the cost of conversion is an expensive way to waste more money if you're not building a race or high Hp truck. If you want high Hp numbers, there are more efficient blowers out there.

Depends on what he was looking at for power. Pulling wise I wish I had my F250 with the V10 back. Speed wise these F150's with the 5.4 are pretty quick, V10 not so fast. I had an F150 with the 5.4 blow me away in my V10 F250. But towing wise the V10 is the best. Just my personal experience and $0.02 worth though.
