Or if you want to get technical, use pin#6 Blue/White, and wire it to output on a relay. Connect an aux switch to the relay. Then you can use your illuminator any time you want, with our without any outside lamps on.

I want them bright whenever the doors open, I never drive with them on so I don't need to adjust the brightness. I already have 2 gauges hooked to that little blue/red wire, plus that would still make them come on with headlights which I don't want.

You could get around all that, but probably not worth the trouble if you arent looking for dimming.

And if they are LED's, dimming is pretty much a waste of time. Limiting voltage isnt a great way to dim an LED.

I have em exactly like I want em now so no reason to change it. If they were on while driving either the dome would be on too or they'd be flashing, which is really distracting.

same here and say someone drops something all I have to do is turn the interior lights on by rolling the dimmer switch and they turn on
