Does it replace the connector onto the coil as well? Does your truck have cop's?

I just did my plugs. Yeah I got COPS. The little boot on the COP will come off. However you said you replaced COPS right?

Dude are you talking about the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the COP? Wow. Yeah those wires would be a bit of a PITA. Is the plug plugging in right? Is it clicking? Did you remove the fuel rail at all? I think the bowl thing your referring to is the EGR, but I can't be sure. Or are you talking about the one where the hose runs from the back of the intake up to the bowl thing attached to the firewall on the drivers side?

I did plugs and cop's. Yes I know the boot comes off. And yea these guys are confusing me saying that I can change the wires. They are not like older cars wire and plug systems.

No I did not remove fuel rail it would have made it easier but I just left it. And yes it clicks and feels just the same as the rest.

Ok. So you put a new plug and COP on #7. You're not getting any carbon tracking or moisture on the plug. If you're sure both of them are good you need to move on to air and fuel.

You need to start looking at the fuel injector. Is the plug for the wiring that goes to the injector on good and tight? Does it click when it goes on? Is there any way you can test the injector on your own or do you need to take it to a shop and have them checked?

Air. Piston rigs, Air Intake. Is the cylinder itself dead?

Here's a good tech article for you to start digging deeper...

There is NO distributor on a 97 up Ford F150. What distributor on what vehicle did you change. The 97-98 4.6 have wires running to 2 separate coil packs, but no distributor. The 5.4 is COP's powered. The 97 F250 HD had a distributor in the 5.0, 5.8 and 7.5's but no distributor on the 4.6 or 5.4 motors that came later. Just wondering what you are working on.

On this site, there was a guy who was also having problems with #7 cylinder getting wet and shorting out. He did something where the water would come down and drop on that cylinder. You might check the forum for #7 misfire and see if you can find his repair. He stated that it cured his problem and he was just as bad off as you are. Good luck.

You said in another post on this topic that you changed 7 of the 8 plugs and left 1 in because of it blowing out before? It wasn't this plug that keeps shorting out is it? That plug could be cracked and causing the misfire which will also short out the coils in a short time. Just wondering.
